Erika Mikazuki was born in Shiga Prefecture Japan and studied Ikebana at the Ryuseiha School based in Tokyo for over 20 years.

She worked in museum and gallery administration for many years and exhibited her Ikebana regularly at Shiga Prefectural Cultural exhibitions for over 10 years. Since 2015 she has been the Primary flower artist for Torasaru making seasonal commissions.

Erika describes her work with flowers and plants as 'freestyle' arrangements.

Erika is currently based in Japan and the Uk.

This master class is a wonderful way of learning not only the technique of Ikebana, but the history and its intriguing origins.. Ikebana is more than just decorative, it is a spiritual process that helps one develop a closeness with nature. The inner tranquility of meditation flows from removing the habitual clutter of the mind, and ikebana becomes a visual metaphor for this refined state of consciousness.

Bowls, flower frogs, pebbles & flower ingredients are included in the cost of the class, and you will be able to take these home to practice.
